The world's oldest soap, made the way it always was: pure olive oil, bay laurel oil, and time. Cooked in cauldrons, poured onto stone, cut by hand and aged for months — until the outside turns golden and the heart stays deep green. One bar, three ingredients, twelve centuries of practice.

What's inside:

Saponified olive oil, bay laurel oil, water. Nothing else — the warm, herbal scent is the laurel itself, not a fragrance.

Cut a bar in half and you'll find the deep green colour of a young Aleppo soap inside its golden crust: the sign of a naturally aged, honestly made bar. The longer it rests, the darker — and milder — it becomes.

Origin & making:

Made to the ancient Aleppo recipe by a traditional soapmaker on the Turkish Aegean coast. The oils are cooked slowly in great cauldrons, poured out over a stone floor, flattened by hand, then cut and stamped one by one. The bars are stacked into open towers and left to cure for at least three months — the slow way, because there is no fast way.

How to use:

A true all-rounder: hands, face, body, even hair and shaving. Lather with warm water and rinse. Let the bar dry between uses — an aged Aleppo bar is dense and lasts a very long time. It also keeps beautifully in a linen drawer, where it scents the fabric softly.
